What does the Office of Communications do for the diocese?
The work of the office is all around us. It is just not easily identified as “work from the Office of Communications”. Some of the duties of the Office of Communications are to:
- Handle media inquiries – radio, television, newspaperperson
- Serve as the “link” for other offices – gathering important news and information as it relates to the different ministries
- Share information about the diocese and events taking place with the media through press releases
- Oversee and maintain the diocesan web site
- Write and produce the on-going series of uplifting radio messages for Bishop Leibrecht
- Arranges for broadcast of Tu Companero, a 30 minute Spanish radio program broadcast weekly
- Contribute weekly TV Reviews for “The Mirror”
- Assist in the DDF Campaign – video, brochures and posters
- Work in conjunction with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
